About San Luis de Sabinillas

Tracing it's recent history back to the late 18th century and once Manilva's poor cousin, the collection of fishermen's huts and sugar factory worker's cottages that was Sabinillas, is fast becoming the commercial heart of Manilva.

With seven banks opening in the last 18 months and numerous shops, bars and restaurants, Sabinillas is fast turning into a lively little town.

With it's recently completed promenade (Paseo Maritimo) which will eventually run all the way from Duquesa to the Rio Manilva as well as it's squares and gardens, Sabinillas is a great place to wander around, sit outside one of the many bars or cafés and watch the world go by.

Despite this recent boom, Sabinillas still has a working fishing community who you can watch launching there boats from the beach (the bigger boats operate out of Puerto de la Duquesa) and then returning with that day's (or night's) catch of fish and shellfish, you will often see some of the restaurateurs on the beach choosing that day's menu!

There are also exciting plans for the future, with new sports complex which is being built on the Campo de Futbol, which will include indoor swimming pool, paddle and tennis courts, squash court, all-weather 7-a-side football pitch and sports hall, and more underground parking, which all make Sabinillas a great place to live, work and play.
